Mets Crushed By Reds 14-4

A first inning grand slam by Scott Schebler put the Mets in an early 5-1 hole that they could not dig out of. They would fall 14-4 tonight in Cincinnati to the Reds.

Chris Flexen struggled allowing seven runs on seven hits over just four and two thirds innings. The Mets would get a two-run single from Dom Smith and Asdrubal Cabrera would drive in a pair for the Mets offense.

They'll play game two of their three game series tomorrow as Rafael Montero will get the start for New York. Coverage on WOR begins at 6:05 pm with Pete McCarthy and 'Mets on Deck'.
