Snow once again fell on New York City and the surrounding suburbs on Monday morning, creating a slippery commute.
“Mother Nature’s a day late. Yesterday was April Fool’s Day,” one man on the Jersey Shore told WOR’s Alice Stockton Rossini.
A Winter Weather Advisory was in effect with 4.8 inches of snow reported in Central Park as of 9 a.m. Some parts of northern New Jersey had received 6 inches of snow.
“It could be worse. We could have 12 inches,” one man said.
It was said that the snow wouldn't stick to the roads because it wasn't cold enough. However, the roads were snow covered in much of the tri-state area.
The snow also postponed the home opener at Yankee Stadium. The Yankees game against the Tampa Bay Rays has been postponed until Tuesday.
"I've had enough of it. Bring on the summer," one man said.
The tri-state area has been hit with a series of storms since March, after what was a relatively mild winter. Two weeks ago, more than 8 inches fell on Central Park and 19 inches was reported in Patchogue, Long Island. Earlier in the month, more than 20 inches was reported in northern New Jersey.
Storms also knocked out power for hundreds of thousands of people throughout the tri-state area. Many were with in the dark for days.
