Syracuse Men's Basketball Coach Jim Boeheim Involved in Fatal Highway Crash

Syracuse men's basketball coach Jim Boeheim struck and killed a 51-year-old pedestrian on a New York highway Wednesday night, police say.

The man was walking outside the vehicle on the road before midnight Wednesday when Boeheim drove by and struck him while trying to avoid the stopped vehicle, according to a report.

Police say Boeheim has cooperated with their investigation. There was no sign that the coach was impaired at the time of the crash, and no tickets have been issued at this time.

Earlier Wednesday evening Syracuse defeated Louisville 69-49 during a home game.
