Dozens Injured Before Turkish Airlines Flight Lands At JFK Airport

More than 30 people are recovering with injuries after extreme turbulence rocked a flight that landed at JFK Airport Saturday. Reports indicate that Turkish Airlines Flight 1 endured about six minutes of severe turbulence while over Maine, eventually landing around 6 o'clock after repeated drops in altitude.

The ride was so severe that passengers and luggage were sent flying around the cabin, some passengers suffering cuts and bruising…and one person suffered a broken leg. In all, ten people had to be hospitalized.

The flight was coming from Istanbul, and authorities say it flew directly over an area that was experiencing extreme turbulence.
