Yanks Win 15th Straight Against O’s

Gleyber Torres and the Yankees made a whole bunch of home run history on Monday against the Orioles, when they played a pair of games in a day-night doubleheader at Yankee Stadium.

The Yankees won both of them—and why wouldn’t they, considering they haven’t lost to the Orioles since last season.

And with last night’s 8-3 win over the O’s, the Yankees have now won 15 straight against Baltimore.

But, before we get to that—it’s worth noting that the Yankees hit seven home runs in the doubleheader Monday, allowing the Orioles to set the dubious record of most home runs allowed in a single season by an AL team in MLB history.

The Orioles were at 248 and counting heading onto last night’s game—just 10 behind the 2016 Reds mark of 258.

And it took just a single pitch for the Yankees DJ LeMahieu to knock that total to 249, as he took the very first pitch by the O’s John Means over the wall.

It got no better from there, as Yankees didn’t homer again, but they did roll to the 8-3 win as the Yankees Domingo Germán become the majors’ first 16-game winner.
