Sources: Mets Assessing Manager Carlos Beltran After Astros Fallout

Commissioner Rob Manfred has cleared Carlos Beltran—the New York Mets newly hired manager—of possible discipline in the Houston Astros' sign-stealing scandal of 2017.

But you know what the Mets have said about it?

Nothing!

Yeah, and that may be raising concerns for the new skipper, as ESPN is reporting that the Mets are quiet because they are quietly assessing the situation concerning Beltran, who is still slated to open spring training with the team next month in what would be his rookie season as a big-league manager.

Historically, the Mets have been sensitive to criticism in the New York market. In recent days, there have been hard questions raised in the media about Beltran's past denials about his role in the Astros' cheating scandal and his accountability for what occurred.

Thing is, if you believe he knew nothing about what was going on in his very clubhouse—then why the hell would you want him running your team.

Oh yeah, it’s the Mets—he may be a perfect fit for his new job.
