NYC Likely To Get First Snowfall Of The Season Wednesday

New York City is likely to see its first snowfall of the season Wednesday, with forecasters predicting a dusting in the five boroughs and some light snow in the suburbs north and west of the city.

A few days ago, forecasters warned of a possible big-time snowfall this week, but the chances of that have dimmed as the brunt of the weather system has seemingly formed too far to the east.

NBC's Storm Team 4 predicts the overall impact of Wednesday's wintry weather will be low for the region, resulting in little more than wet roadways.

New York City residents should expect less of an inch of accumulation when all is said and done. Points north in the Hudson Valley could see up to 3 inches of snow.

Temperatures will stay low through Thursday, then heat up to close to 60 over the weekend.
