NYPD Increases Security After Mass Shooting In Maine

New York City Police are stepping up patrols around the five boroughs following the mass shooting in Maine that left 18 people dead and more than a dozen injured.

Authorities in Maine continue to search for suspected gunman Robert Card. He doesn't have any known ties to New York City, but the NYPD is concerned that he could travel here and attempt to blend in with the more than 8 million New Yorkers.

The increased security comes after the NYPD stepped up its presence at Jewish institutions in recent weeks because of the attacks on Israel.
