After a defiant Hunter Biden showed up at Capitol Hill Thursday and made a statement declaring his father never profited financially from his business, the House of Representatives declared an impeachment inquiry for President Biden will begin. The vote fell along party lines, leaving many people asking if there is significant reason to investigate in the first place. Representative Anthony D’Esposito (NY-4th) believes there is. He appeared on 710 WOR’s Len Berman and Michael Riedel in the Morning program to explain why he voted yes for taking a closer look at the President’s involvement with his son’s businesses.
“This is the opportunity for us to get the information that they have collected and obtained over the last six or seven months so that we can review it and make a decision as to where we see the next step going,” D’Esposito told Berman and Riedel. “For the Democrats, if there is, as they say, there is nothing to hide, I think that this is a step in the direction to either move forward in an impeachment or clear the name of the President and move forward either way.”
D’Esposito also joined New York’s Republican representatives introducing a resolution condemning Governor Kathy Hochul’s Clean Slate Act, which hides most criminal convictions in New York after a few years. D’Esposito explained why he denounced the act. “I think that this is another step by the New York legislature and the governor where they’re putting criminals before law-abiding citizens… Kathy Hochul has said, I believe, that a good-paying job is the best way to fight crime, That’s the most ridiculous comment I’ve ever heard. The way to fight crime is… to not give criminals the ability to commit crimes, be released, and then get out on the streets to commit more crimes.”
