Mayor Adams Battles With City Council Over NYPD Bill

Mayor Adams is hoping to win over members of the City Council, hoping to convince them not to override his veto of a controversial NYPD bill.

The measure approved by the Council would require police officers to detail most interactions with the public. The mayor says it'll bury officers in paperwork and hurt public safety.

My constituency believe that this is a harmful bill. Some of them have said that, you know, if they were able to vote with their conscience, they would not vote for this bill," Mayor Adams said.

He's challenged members of the City Council to go on a ride along with police to see what they do on a daily basis. Adams says some members are willing to take him up on that offer.
