NYC Remote Learning Experiences Problems On Snow Day

Some students in New York City were kept from remote learning on Tuesday because they were unable to log into the system.

Schools were closed because of the snow but students were still required to learn virtually. However, many complained that they weren't able to access the platform.

"I was extremely angry to hear (Tuesday) morning that they were not ready, and that was unacceptable to me," Schools Chancellor David Banks said.

New York City officials blamed IBM, which it said was the vendor responsible for the problem. They promised a full investigation.

"It's my responsibility to deliver the service that we are expecting. And that is what we're saying. And part of that responsibility is to go back and revisit what IBM did wrong, and if there's something we can do better, we're gonna do better as well," Mayor Eric Adams said.
